Another Sunday morning of disappointment for the Bedworth United u12s has left all associated with the team very frustrated, wondering and questioning the game they had witnessed at The Place , the home of Chap Colts.
In a match that started with United having so much possession of the ball in the first 20 minutes ,it looked for sure that the recent league form dip was going to be cast aside and a possible first league win of this much interrupted season was on the cards. However , United were punished when a rebound from a save was failed to be cleared and chaps slotted the ball home. 1-0 to the home team.
After so much time on the ball and a brace of missed opportunities the Greenbacks picked themselves up and carried on.
Then shortly after that goal a foul was commited on a united the player. The ref waved play on advantage Bedworth only for the ball to go straight to a chaps player the game was allowed to play on and resulted in another goal. Surely the advantage was clearly in chaps favour and should of been bought back for the original foul.
The boys in green were at half time reassured that the game was by no means lost. They came back out for the second half and stuck to the game plan of moving the ball and pressuring the opposition as soon as they were in possession . Hard work payed off when united scored. The crowd quickly cheered and the linesman quickly raised his flag for what he believed was offside. Another kick in the teeth for the boys didn't stop them pushing to gain a goal and when one of the attacking green army was bought down in the box the claims for a penalty were were met with the off side flag being raised.
The game finished 2-0 to chaps. United were beaten by 2 missed opportunities and 2 decisions.
Man of the match went to Billy Mulhern who worked tirelessly against who ever was in front of him.
