The U14's are still searching for their first points of the season as they suffered late goal heartbreak in a game they certainly deserved at least a point. The game played on a newly cut Newdigate rec in bright sunshine but with a strong wind behind the Bedworth lads backs started at a frantic pace with both teams having their share of attacking action.Matt Helijak was the first keeper brought into action though with a fantastic diving save to his right and needed treatment for a whack in the face as the ball rebounded off the post but luckily went for a corner! Binley were a big physical outfit and took the lead when their left midfielder broke free to score . moments later though Liam Harper scampered away and put in a perfect cross where Connor Ross headed home confidently from 6yards to equalise . Ross actually netted again soon after but the Referee ruled it out adjudging that the Bedworth striker had raised his foot dangerously on the keeper?
The second period saw the visitors have more of the play with the wind at their backs but Utd were defending well and not really looking in to much danger until with the game looking like finishing all square, saw a striker chase a long ball forward, with the ball looking like going for a goal kick he wrapped his foot around the ball and with Helijak committed out of position it was a simple tap in to rob Utd of a deserved point.
Team selection has not been published for this fixture yet.
